Dead soldiers lined up on the table

I had better update before too much time passes. I was planning on updating when I get a connection (soon) but since I'm out at uni I might as well get it over with.

[ Travel ]
Mum is coming out to stay with us next weekend; should be interesting.

The weekend before my birthday (17/06) we are heading out to Mackay to visit people and to get drunk, I think. Possibly we'll go to Yeppoon first (Saturday) to visit a couple of Emma's family friends, Bruce & Pete Cornelius, they are there with their blues band.

Alan (Tug@Lug) and Chris (KillerBaby) Hermann have said they will come out and drag Damian with them one weekend to have a LAN at my place out here. Awesome, just awesome. Alan and Chris are the best, I swear. I'm wondering why I just don't go out to Mackay for a weekend instead (by myself) ... might be cheaper. Will see how things turn out.

[ Purchases ]
We've bought about a zillion new things since I last updated. Mostly kitchen stuff like Pyrex bowls, mixing bowls, baking trays and that sort of thing. Emma and I have been going mad in the kitchen, baking cookies and cakes and all sorts of crap like that.

I finally got my health cover with Medibank Private put through. I'll be going to the dentist really soon, as it's starting to get desperate now.

I'll be getting Internet access pretty soon, these guys have been advertising heaps on TV and for me it will do so I can chat to people and browse and stuff. Later on when I have a bit more money I will get ADSL.

Hopefully I'll also be getting a new monitor soon too; I've been playing around with my Life insurance policy but I'm still not really sure yet if I will go forward with my plans for it.

[ Other ]
Somewhere along the line Claire deleted one of my comments on a journal entry. I'd just like to say thanks, for keeping the crap out of my mailbox. I would rather stay out of it, and I probably shouldn't have put my two cents in, in the first place.

If anybody wants to buy me this for my birthday, I won't say no.

don't tell me your a manga/animae fan too??

They're coming out from everywhere, everywhere. Not that I mind at all

If you're eva in Briz again, go to Empire in the Valley, they have manga projected onto the walls on the first level [methinx]. You can't hear it, but just watching it while drunk/stoned/out-of-it-in-any-other-way is cool. Also the music and couches aren't bad either.

I love how they have couches in Valley clubs, can't get enough of em.

I'm not a "hardcore" fan or anything, I just enjoy it. I've heard a lot of good things about SE: Lain.

i just keep thinking back to those drunken setup nights pre-thelan that we had... i remember the last warehouse lan we stayed up till 5am drinking vodka and red bull reminiscing over internet access thru dos... and i thought i had it pretty tough back then with nic continually trying to kill herself... i was so wrong.. i didnt know how bad it could get.. god i miss those days...

Chris those memories are some I'll treasure forever. I love you *smooch* hehehe.

I understand that both of you have uh "problems" with depression (correct me if I am wrong); by nature I tend to hesitate before I go trying to affect the outcome. (ie I'm a fence sitter) I like you both as friends and you'll understand why I hesitate now to make much of any opinion on the matter.

Just writing this makes me sick =( I wish I could meet both of you so I could give you both a great big hug.

Believe it or not I lay awake at night thinking about the great times I have had with my friends over the years.

We've grown up
We're all at that age now, we think back, upon what friends we did have, what we left behind as we moved on. Yet our lives are not over yet. Stephen, I'm sure you'll make friends and continue to have fun out in Emerald, while still touching base with your old friends back here in Mackay.

In short, Those Were The Days.... And yer it sounds corny, but I miss talking to you and mucking around at uni, with Denns and Paris or just LANing as we did years ago.

Chris - can't say much since, I've never been to where you are and really dont want to put my foot in it :).

Xin - yay for you! :)

Piece to a Puzzle
:~( Well guys after reading all that about reminissing (forgive spelling) I feel I must add my thoughts and feelings too.

From the days I met you guys back in '96' its been great, As Jono (hey Jono!) said, all the great times we had playing lan games in the old lab, DOOM II, Duke, Quake etc etc, all the times we used to get smacked off our tits on Rum or Burboun at my place, Penny's place, Your place, and Dennis's Place. They were great days, No worries, no responsibilities, Nothin...
Your Right Stephen, it can get depresssing, I feel it too. As all of us slowly turn another year over and start mentally comparing ourselves to who we were then, physically and metally respectivly we slowly grab a hold of ourselves hold on to those memories and use that to create or plan new, fresh and sporadically dynamically different ones. Whether it be in London like i am or move to an new town, city, or get serious about someone you love and cherish or whatever the case may be.
Its great to be alive rather than to not exist. Something that you said to me back around 98 Stephen, Quote "I have no regrets" And still to this day I remember that with whatever I do.
Dennis, Stephen, your both probably saying.. ahh shit here we go again Paris and all his D&M shit hehe. Yeah well shit happens ;)
Final personal saying.
"Life is like big massive hunk of fresh Blu Tak!,
You can mold it into whatever you want and still change it"

No Regrets
The people we meet, we each have an effect on their lives, no matter how small, and they in turn affect us and guide us through our lives. I'm glad to have met everyone I've ever known, except for a small handful of people I can count on one hand. I hope you have a great time in London, Paris, and dont be a stranger. (What ARE you doing in London?)

My most fondest memories however are the whirlwind days of 96-98 and then 1999. Those were the days............

*grins* How's THAT for D&M? :)
