An interesting day.

I woke up at about 11:30am to Paris's message asking when I was coming in. I told him I had to whip up a job application and then I'd be coming.

I proceeded to do my job application for this job at Marian State School. I figured since I was going to be out there I might as well go the extra distance and go for a swim. So I rang Paris and told him, he was all for it. I grabbed my application and a towel, and headed on in.

All three of us (Paris, Nathan, and me - Nathan is one of Paris's best friends) piled into my poxy, busted-arse, low clearance Barina and headed off. We were about two minutes from the unsealed road when Paris asked the million-dollar question:

"Steve, is thing going to be able to make it through all the water crossings on the way?"

"Yeah no worries mate she'll be right, you just watch."

Famous last words.

I managed to get my tiny car bogged at the second crossing. It was cool though, because its a small car and there were three big blokes in it. It was just a matter of getting the lightest one to drive (Paris) and the other two to push; nevermind the fact we were knee-deep in water and the car was up to the axles in sand.

Enormous fun =)

The water was cold, but yesterday was perfect weather for swimming so I loved it. Paris and Nathan have a bit less body fat than me so they were affected by the freezing water a lot more than I was. I found it extraordinarily relaxing to be wading around in freezing cold water, in a rainforest with a couple of good buddies.

The drive home was a bit of more fun; I was driving. I kept forgetting that brakes don't work after you've been through a water crossing, and so there was (seriously) some screaming. I'd accelerate up to 60 kmh or so after the water crossing, come to a major ditch and then scream "Oh fuck, the brakes don't work" and so we'd all hurtle screaming towards the ditch with me pumping the brakes and the other two terrified. Its okay though, the car still runs fine, though I'm sure I've caused some more permanent damage.

Afterwards we went out to uni and played CS until 4am. No AWP's allowed, so Lutz showed us all how good he was with the fucking Scout.

Well, Boyd applied for it too. But thanks for the compliment, you've just brightened my otherwise dull day.
