Don't forget to come up for air

Tuesday just gone we went out to Mackay for a day trip. Not doing that again. Left at 6am, got there at 10:20am. Scored some money off Medicare & Medibank Private (sad to see what Johnny's doing to it!). We went underwear shopping ($150). Then we bought a game (DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball) and two CD's (Disco Montego and Robbie Williams). Another $150.

The reason we were going to Mackay is my Mum's birthday this Friday is her 50th, and we are both working solid over the weekend so we can't make her party. Went to a jewellers next, bought Mum a locket and chain ($200). Took her out to lunch and then we all went and watched Matrix Reloaded (lunch $60, movies $40). We also paid a couple phone bills, $80 worth.

We left at 5:30pm, got back at 9:30pm, said hello to Bruce and Pete Cornelius, Emma's old neighbours from Tassie.

Got some M:tG cards for Emma's brother Matt, he has a bit of a collection going on, and we like to play social games with him roughly once a week.

Emma's taking a liking to DOAX. I'll play it (because I paid $94 for it), but it really seems aimed more at the 14 - 18 Female gamer (does such a thing exist?) if you ask me. It looks like its all T & A (and it largely is) but the gameplay is umm. Well a lot of the time you spend trying to make friends with the other women - you do this by giving them gifts of "accessories" (I'm still a bit confused at how a SMG can be classified as an accessory) and swimsuits and things. I can't seem to find much enjoyment from accessorising x swimsuit with x visor, sunglasses, volleyball, nail polish etc.

Still a great game though. Can't fault that. I've been playing Munch's Odysee, which we bought ages ago for half price (because its so old). Pretty addictive game, I think I've nearly finished it.

Anyway, laters.

I forgot to mention to Emma that I figured out a way to get through that area she was stuck on ... :(

And damnit, I missed you online again. Might phone instead. :P

Oooh M:tG

*peers at the frigging huge collection we have here* We want to sell them, but to do that I would need to catalogue them. And damn that would be a boring job.

Looking at those prices made my jaw drop. I don't know why, but I have this quaint little picture in my head of everything in Mackay being really cheap.

For cataloguing your collection, I would recommend Magic Suitcase.

I mentioned this to Emma's brother Matt, and his immediate response was, "I'll buy them."

So, if you really want to get rid of them, you could always attempt to bring them with you. Or catalogue them when you get back. Or something.

Magic Suitcase does come in handy, specially when you've stopped collecting and need to know the rough value of the entire collection. It gets to be a bit laborious continuously updating it with newer cards, but in order to catalogue a non-growing collection simply requires a few hours of initial effort (depending on the size of your collection, of course!).
