Anyway we got the 10:10am Eurostar from Waterloo station to Gare Du Nord in Paris. Jess and I spent the first afternoon checking out the Arc de Triomph (biggest roundabout in the world), wandering down the Champs Elyssès, past Place de Concorde (lights came on as we were looking at the obelisk, nice moment) and past the Louvrè before heading back to the hostel.
Hostel was a bit dodgy (no soaps in the bathrooms to wash your hands??) but otherwise ok.
Yesterday it was totally overcast when we went up the Eiffel Tower, and today its clear. Can't win everytime I guess. Yesterday we also checked out Notre Dame. That killed us from all the walking so we finished on that note.
Today we had a quick look at the Grandè Arche, its a big square office building in the Defènse area. After that we spent the morning looking through the Louvrè, looking at the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo and some other things. Not really for me or Paul, Jess loved it though.
This afternoon we are just killing time until we get our train on to Berlin. Onward we go!!
PS I've probably put the accented 'è's in all the wrong places. It really is awkward on this keyboard. I can only see it getting worse the further east we go.
