A couple of people (who I haven't seen for a while) asked me lately "So, what have you been doing with yourself?"

One of them also asked, or rather stated, "I've noticed you seem to be distancing yourself from people."

I kind of knew that I was doing it, but now that its obvious, I don't really care.

As for what I've been doing, well I found myself answering, "Taking it easy. Really easy. Just enjoying and living my life. All I care about is Emma and me."

Which pretty much sums it up.

I know exactly how you feel. It's happened to me many times. People tend to be quite selfish and possessive. They should be happy that you have found happiness with Emma and leave it at that. Most people tend to confuse the concept of "a life" with "hanging out with friends, complaining about other people and doing nothing really important". I call that wasting time, not having a life. Instead of going from A to B then on to C, they just tend to lethargically stagnate around point A and then complain when other members of the group decide they've had enough and want to move on with their life.

You know where your priorities are and that's more than most people in this world can claim. Good on you.

One of my pet peeves are people that have their own idea of success; and then when talking to you they try to imply that they have been more successful than you.

Its something I struggle with all the time; ie trying not to become one of these people.

I can't say much more than that except "ditto".
