I found my happiness (baaaaa ba-ba-ba)

Was "window shopping" on some hardware sites last night, and my Dad was watching over my shoulder. So I did one up for him (because he has expressed interest in buying a new computer). I showed him quickly how by shopping around a bit he can save several hundred dollars.

After I filled up the last shopping cart, he's like "Okay, keep going." So now I have to come back next week and put it together for him too.

I must ring up Atomic MPC about my free subscription.

MSI K7T Turbo
AMD Duron 900
128mb KingMax PC133
20Gb, 5400 rpm IBM hdd
Asus 50x cdrom drive
Some really cheap TNT2 vid card
AOpen HQ45 midi-tower case (with 250w PSU)
cheap-ass Acer keyboard
MS wheelmouse optical

all for the low, low price of $1014 AUD. Damn the state of the aussie dollar sucks.

That reminds me, I'm going to stick the USB mouse on the P2-400 and play Quake 3 on that ... not only does it hang a whole lot less, the screen isn't in a state of perpetual "oops, the contrast knob is malfunctioning!".

Hrm, I spent most of today twiddling my thumbs and thinking "I'm bored", but I've just thought of a bunch of things I could have done. :)

Darryl keeps telling me to bring the monitor over but I don't want to drive around and walking over with my monitor doesn't sound appealing to me. :P

I thought the K7 line needed a 300W power supply?

Re: PSU?
Well hopefully it will be fine, otherwise I may need to purchase another one.

Might look into these things.

Re: PSU?
guess what, it doesn't need a 300 watt.

my 1200 runs fine, no crashes or anything, I have 2 cd drives and a hard drive, adn no problems at all.
